WRDS Access & Accounts

Datasets in WRDS are available for Stanford-related academic research purposes only.

WRDS Accounts

Request an individual account (can take 1-2 business days to activate).

  • Master's Degree Students – Accounts do not include summer access or Unix access. If you need access over the summer for Stanford-related academic research contact us.
  • Research Assistants – If your account has expired but you are still working as a Research Assistant, contact us with the name of your faculty supervisor and we can reactive your account.
  • Classes – If you are a faculty member and you have a class of students who need access to WRDS, you can register for a classroom account (under User type select Shared Account for Class).
  • Undergraduate Students – Individual accounts are not available. If you need WRDS access while working as a research assistant sign up for a 'Research Assistant' account. If you are doing some other project and are hoping to get access to WRDS contact us.

About WRDS

WRDS (Wharton Research Data Services) is an online platform that provides access to a wide variety of business and finance related datasets. If a database is listed as a "trial" or is greyed out, we do not have access to it. If there is something we don't have that you are interested in, let us know.
